The Border Collie
is a breed of dog that has been selected for more than two centuries for pastoral purposes.
This dog from the British Isles takes its name from the “borders” region which separates England and Scotland.
Its name was adopted in 1915. Great Britain recognized the breed in 1976, and the first border collies arrived in France in the early 1980s.
In France (unlike other European countries) dogs and their owners must pass a confirmation examination based on a work test supplemented by a morphology test.
The Border Collie is distinguished more by its excellent herding skills than by its morphology. Indeed, borders can be of very varied colors, sizes and builds (you will be able to see this by looking at our dogs).
We chose to work with Border Collies on our farm because they are lively, affectionate dogs with a great capacity for analyzing situations.
Our dogs are put to the test during Special Border Collie competitions.
